Florida Gets Housing Assistance

Housing assistance is a desperately needed resource in Florida, and now state officials have approximately $65 million in stimulus funds to allocate and implement for qualified individuals.

The monies are intended to be used to assist families and individuals that are either already homeless, or on the verge of losing their home due to foreclosure or an eviction. Households with incomes below 50% of the area's median income will be able to qualify for assistance. Government officials say that this stimulus funding is critical in helping Florida regain its footing in real estate. With one of the worst foreclosure rates, along with high unemployment rates, families need this help more than ever.
